Día de los Muertos is a traditional celebration meant to honor the dead and is especially practiced throughout Latin America and the U.S, with strong origins in Indigenous culture. Through the process of European colonization, the celebrations were influenced by the Catholic religion. Día de los Muertos celebrations are usually held on Nov. 1- 2, but sometimes commence in late October. “Engineering is about making the life of other people easier by finding solutions, solutions to move, solutions to see; for example, the lighting of a building to make it very efficient for people to see. For people to be able to play, engineering is about making life easier for everybody,“ Biwole said.

This year Cal Poly Humboldt will be holding the 26th Annual Campus and Community Dialogue on Race. Students, faculty and community members will hear from a variety of diverse speakers, participate in workshops and engage with a variety of topics relating to racial justice, oppression and resistance. The theme for this year is “Voices of our Community: Reclaiming Stories.”

The events will take place starting Monday, Oct. 21 to Friday, Oct. 26 in various buildings across campus.

Un proyecto de viviendas para estudiantes de $200 millones de dólares está ubicado cerca de la intersección de St. Louis Road y la autopista 101 y se espera que albergue a un total de 964 estudiantes.

Habrá diferentes variaciones de estilos de apartamentos. Un apartamento para seis residentes tendrá tres habitaciones, todas ellas dobles. Los cuatro apartamentos para residentes serán de dos habitaciones dobles o de cuatro habitaciones individuales.

“Habrá una cafetería que preparará comida por encargo. También habrá una tienda de conveniencia asociada. Un poco similar a lo que es College Creek, pero menos concepto de comida y más tienda de conveniencia o tendero”, dijo el vicepresidente asociado de administración de instalaciones, Mike Fisher.
