Free Meal Swipes available to students

The Meal Swipe Assistance program is a service for Cal Poly Humboldt students facing food insecurity. They are eligible to receive five free meal swipes which can be used as an entrance pass for the school’s dining hall, the J.

Students interested in the program may fill out a Basic Needs Food Swipes Request, which can be found on the Dean of Students Website under the CARE referral forms, or on the Basic Needs website in the food resources section. Students can receive five free meal swipes to the J every four weeks.

“If any student is unsure how to get started with either, they can reach out to me and I’ll help them get connected to those two wonderful programs,” said Basic Needs Coordinator, Charles Moore.

Moore explained that the program is intended only as a supplemental assistance due to its limited supply of swipes. Moore also encouraged students to use other campus assistance programs such as OhSNAP and CalFresh/EBT and other services offered his help to students.
